Pernod Ricard case study

New visual impact with more sustainable packaging

Pernod Ricard asked DS Smith to suggest ways to improve Sustainability, Innovation, Security of Supply, Strategic Partnership and Margin Improvement for their new Glenlivet packaging.


The solutions proposed by DS Smith have been developed based on our Circular Design Metrics. The packaging enabled a reduction of material of 4g/sqm resulting in 18 tonnes of material saved per year and reduced C02 emissions of 12g per case with the new solution and 11 tonnes of C02 per year.

In addition to CO2 reduction the new packaging improved the visual impact of the brand. Consumers are actively looking for more sustainable solutions,  and this has a real positive impact on sales.
