DS Smith Plc today announces that Jonathan Nicholls will retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the 2019 AGM on 3 September. It also announces the appointment with effect from 11 April 2019 of David Robbie to the Company's Board as a Non-Executive Director. He will also join the Audit Committee, the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee of the Board and will become Chairman of the Audit Committee upon Jonathan Nicholls' retirement. At that time Rupert Soames will become Senior Independent Director.
David is currently a non-executive director and audit committee chair of the FTSE 250 transport company FirstGroup PLC. Prior to that he served as finance director of can-maker Rexam PLC, before its
Commenting on Jonathan's retirement and David's appointment, Gareth Davis, Chairman, said:

There is no further information to disclose in relation to David Robbie's appointment in accordance with LR 9.6.13.
