As the next step in our company’s transformation, International Paper has announced a plan to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies—one focused on North America and one focused on Europe, Middle East & Africa.
This positions both businesses to accelerate growth, strengthen focus and better serve our customers for the long term.
What is Changing – And What is Not
The separation will create two leading sustainable packaging solutions companies, each with its own focused management team, business model, and investment strategy.
- Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)
The new, publicly traded company will include both DS Smith and legacy International Paper assets currently operating in the EMEA region.
- North America:
The company will continue to operate as International Paper in North America and will include both IP and recently acquired DS Smith assets.
Importantly, for our EMEA customers, nothing changes in how we work with you today.
We will continue to serve a wide range of industries with sustainable packaging solutions, designed to protect products, enhance supply chains and support customer sustainability objectives.
Customers will continue to receive the same high-quality products, reliable service, and partnership you expect from us.
