About Us

At DS Smith we provide integrated recycling and waste management services, ranging from simple recycling collections through to full recycling and waste management solutions to businesses of all sizes.

We’re experts in helping businesses get the best value from their recycling by implementing services that deliver less cost, less waste and less complexity.

Waste Management and Recycling

We are Europe’s largest cardboard and paper recyclers, and a leading full recycling and waste management company. We believe that any materials that can be recycled should be recycled. In fact, we’ve been diverting waste away from landfill and driving forward quality in recycling for over 40 years, allowing businesses to focus on what they do best.

Where DS Smith operates

We have operations in 15 countries across Europe and manage over 5.5 million tonnes of material every year, half of which is processed through our own operations. The remainder we export to our global network of paper mills and other material preprocessors.

Materials trading

Like any manufacturing process, papermaking requires a high quality of input material in order to produce high quality finished papers. Because DS Smith is a papermaking company, we’re trusted by our network of partner mills to supply quality material for export.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We help our customers establish auditable recycling and recovery routes to improve their Corporate Social Responsibility and environmental credentials. The material that we collect from our customers is reprocessed by our Paper division and turned into new cardboard boxes by our Packaging division to be back on retailers’ shelves within 14 days.
