DS Smith helps Toms Group scare up sales for Halloween

Toms Group has been producing Denmark’s favourite chocolates and sweets since 1925; a rich and delicious history based on craftsmanship, diligence and foresight. Halloween is a crucial time for sweet manufacturer so they approached DS Smith with a challenge.

Challenge

Boost chocolate and sweets sales as part of a Halloween sales campaign for Toms Group in Danish hypermarkets across the country. The display needs to boost sales and should include space for six concealed euro pallets.

Our Approach

The DS Smith team consisting of an Account Manager, a Designer and a Customer Service Assistant developed a house, sized to hide six euro pallets and with windows to display chocolate and sweets.

The structure consisted of a corrugated cardboard framework and 20 different printed sheets with Halloween artwork. The house was delivered unassembled to each individual Bilka store with an assembly instruction video in order for the Toms Group sales staff to build the construction easily on-site. The framework was assembled by an intuitive click system and the printed sheets were applied to the framework with double adhesive tape.

Results

  • Increased sales by 10% compared to average sales in a leading Danish chain of hypermarkets.
  • Reduced transportation costs as the display is lightweight and optimised for transport on a euro pallet.
  • A large-scale, eye-catching and appealing way to display the customer’s products.
  • Reduced handling of stock by ensuring product can be stored on euro pallets inside the house.
  • Fast assembly with our Easy click system and clear video instructions.
