DS Smith Plastics makes donation to Help Rebuild the Grenfell Community Centre in North Kensington, London, Devastated by a Fire
A donation done by DS Smith Plastics to the Grenfell Community Centre in London, is being featured on the Popular UK television programme DIY SOS on BBC One.
The DIY SOS TV series often features groups who support building projects led by charitable organizations helping struggling communities. The series debuted their Build to Rebuild Grenfell Tower Community Centre episodes on the 5th and 12th of September. The Centre tragically burned down in 2017.
The first episode focuses on a new home for the Dale Youth Boxing Club which was housed for years in the Grenfell Tower, and the second episode will focus on the building of a brand new community center.
To help with the re-build, DS Smith Plastics was called to donate materials for the cause. In response to their community, DS Smith Plastics facility located in Gloucester, UK donated 500 Correx® extruded polypropylene sheets to be used to help protect new flooring from damage whilst installing other equipment.
As the people deal with the fall out after the horrendous fire, the new community centre should be a little glimmer of hope to help the Grenfell community move towards healing. The new structure will stands as a monument to good faith and human compassion.
