Kaysersberg Expands PP Range With Bubble Guard®

Kaysersberg Plastics has expanded its range of rigid PP sheet with the launch of Bubble Guard, created for a variety of packaging applications in markets as diverse as automotive, logistics and food.

Bubble Guard joints Kaysersberg's existing products Akylux® and Akyplen® to offer one of the widest selections of PP sheet on the market.

Bubble Guard is manufactured by simultaneously calendaring three solid sheets, the central layer of which is heat-formed, to produce a bubble structure. The three sheets are combined to create a rigid, light and flat surface, which can be digitally or silkscreen printed and can also be laminated.

This unique structure gives the new product homogeneous properties, and combined with its ability to be laminated in-line with a wide range of different materials, including foam, textiles and printed film, makes Bubble Guard ideal for a variety of products and applications, including trays, boxes, separators and sleeves.

Bubble Guard is also particularly suitable for automotive parts such as steering wheel covers, seat reinforcements and panels. Use of the sheet eliminates the presence of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), and in many instances it is used as a replacement for wood, which helps to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle.

The lightness of the sheet makes it easy to handle and it is resilient to chemical agents and moisture to ensure a high quality appearance and excellent performance.

The sheet is also being marketed to the graphics industry under the Akyprint® brand.

"This major product launch is a very exciting development,"

"The flexibility of Bubble Guard and its suitability for such a diverse range of applications will open up new markets for the company."
