With 8% of all products being shipped via e-commerce in 2018 arriving in a damaged state, there is a demand for a new approach to protective packaging.
Before the advent of online shopping, packaging didn’t need to work so hard. Products were boxed, stacked on pallets and shipped securely to store for shelving. Retailers could identify damaged goods before they left the shop. Brands only needed to worry about the design of shelf packs.
The same rules don’t apply today.
