Customer Seminar “Protective Packaging” at the PackRight Academy in Fulda

Participants from Kuemmerling KG, Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG, Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH and many other companies participated in the two-day DS Smith seminar “Protective Packaging – From paper to the final packaging solution“.

The first day focused on corrugated board and participants learned how paper is manufactured along with which different sorts of paper exist. The audience were also introduced to the manufacturing process of corrugated board, the different sorts of corrugated board and the processing with die-cutting and gluing.  The dinner at the end of the day gave participants the possibility to network.

The second day started with an introduction into the different testing methods for paper and corrugated board. After that, packaging development was the focus with “Rapid Prototyping”. To conclude, the DS Smith experts presented the specialties of hazardous goods packaging and protective packaging.

A particular highlight of the event was the plant tour through the production of DS Smith in Fulda where all the participants were able to see all the theory they had learned in production.
