5 Tips on food packaging

At Tecnicarton we design and manufacture industrial packaging for food products and bulk supplies, both solid and liquid, that protect the product throughout the supply chain

On other occasions we have already talked about the importance of choosing a suitable packaging for the product we want to transport, personalized and adapted to each of the needs. One of the sectors that requires greater specialization in packaging is the food sector.

Food packaging is one of the biggest challenges for packaging manufacturers, since in addition to complying with strict food regulations, it must be able to withstand extreme working and transport conditions, high loads; in addition to being a clean, safe and efficient packaging throughout the logistics chain.

Therefore, in this post we are going to talk about the 5 tips that Heavy Duty packaging for food must deal with:

  1. Protection: one of the main challenges of industrial packaging is to protect the product throughout the logistics phase to ensure that it reaches its final recipient in the best conditions, without altering the physical characteristics or properties of the product.
  2. Resistance: it is a type of packaging intended to be used in industrial environments and to withstand bulky and very heavy products. In addition, in many cases, they are returnable packaging that must guarantee durability over time. At Tecnicarton we use 100% recyclable quadruple, quintuple and sixfold corrugated cardboard for our packaging, which guarantees resistance to weight that is impossible to achieve with standard packaging.
  3. Safety: the packaging must keep the product fresh and protected, complying with all the requirements for correct packaging, to guarantee food safety throughout the supply chain.
  4. Sustainability: at Tecnicarton, most of our packaging is made of corrugated cardboard, which guarantees recycling and minimal environmental impact. In addition, the pulp used for corrugated cardboard for industrial use comes from recycled paper and cardboard, thus avoiding the felling of new trees. Thanks to its easy recyclability, it minimizes the generation of waste.
  5. Optimization of space: they must be a simple packaging, easy to assemble and that encourages stacking, thus optimizing space both in transport and storage.

Packaging solutions for solid and liquid bulk

At Tecnicarton we design and manufacture industrial packaging for food products and bulk supplies, both solid and liquid.

Regarding solutions for solid bulks, we carry out quadruple, quintuple and sixfold cardboard packaging to guarantee a resistance to weight impossible to achieve with standard packaging.

This is the case of regular, irregular, telescopic octabines, of different cardboard qualities, heights, specially designed to contain as much product as possible in perfect condition (1,000 kg of content and 10,000 kg of stacking), optimizing the maximum storage and transport space.

Regarding the range of packaging for liquid bulk, Tecnitank is made of 100% high-strength and recyclable corrugated cardboard, capable of transporting and storing up to 1,000 liters of bulk liquid, safely and economically.

In addition, it has an inner bag, which can be aseptic and protects the content, ensuring that the air does not modify its qualities and thus remains in perfect condition.

In short, an ideal packaging for export and single-use applications, which can be used in multiple sectors: pickles, oils, fruit juices and concentrates, dairy products, fats, paints or adhesives, among others.
