Your role
As a First Line Manager/ Shift Manager, you’ll be a key driver of operational success and team performance within our manufacturing facility. You will lead a production team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production lines. This role offers the perfect opportunity to develop your leadership skills and sets you on the path to becoming a successful Production Manager and GM.
We're looking for individuals who are proactive, solution-focused, and eager to lead by example.
I joined Kemsley as an apprentice. I had really good supervisors during my career and now, as a manager, I have the privilege of sharing that experience. There's a supportive culture at Kemsley and I want my team to thrive. My advice is 'never stop learning'.

Key responsibilities
- Accident / Near Miss reporting
- Hygiene / Environment incident reporting
- SSOW
- Safety checks and audits
- Safety observations
- Risk Assessments
- Fire evacuation.
- First Aiders / Fire Wardens
- Housekeeping & hygiene standards
- Daily Inventory management and reconciliation – PIC system
- Offloading/loading processes in line with delivery requirements
- Strapping line operations
- Rework/quarantine management
- Liaise with customers/3pl supplier on delivery issues
- Coaching, Challenging and Leading
- Monitoring absence / Return to Work interviews
- Manage employee relations matters in line with agreed policies
- Monitoring time keeping; clocking / wages (Clockwise/Workday)
- Controlling holiday requests/bookings
- Arranging holiday / absence cover
- Resource planning
- Updating personnel files
- Updating training records and supporting employees’ training plans
