J.D. Williams appointed as new President of FEFCO

European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers appoints J.D. Williams as the new President. Our President was unanimously chosen by the General Assembly following Dermot Smurfit’s 4 years of presidency (2 mandates).

The new president of FEFCO, the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers, is John D. Williams, the president of SCA Packaging Europe. Ryzsard Kolodziejski, of Eurobox Polska, is now vice president and treasurer.

John Williams, who graduated from King’s College with a degree in Literature, is the president of SCA Packaging Europe since 2005. Before joining SCA Packaging, he held a number of managing positi

ons within companies dealing mainly with branded products, packaging and consulting.

As the previous Vice-President for the past 2 years, John Williams was already actively involved in the work of FEFCO. His priorities for the coming years are to concentrate on strengthening the organisation and continuing the best practices policy. “It is my goal to develop industry standards and guidelines and to continue to provide services whenever appropriate. FEFCO sees itself today as a service organisation for its members; I want to continue that path. I am very honoured and I look forward to contributing to the analysis and debate relating to the factors that can have a direct or indirect impact on the future prospect of the corrugated industry”, says John.

FEFCO (European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers) was established in 1952 and represents the interests of the European Corrugated Board Manufacturers. Headquartered in Brussels, FEFCO has 24 active members, all European national corrugated packaging organisations. The role of the Federation is to investigate economic, financial, technical and marketing issues of interest to the corrugated packaging Industry, to analyse all factors which may influence the industry, and to promote and develop its image.
