+0.7042 apprentices to start their career with SCA Packaging in Germany, Switzerland and Austria
After the summer holidays in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, 42 apprentices started their career with SCA Packaging in different apprenticeships.
Germany, Austria & Switzerland have a very unique apprenticeship system. It combines theoretical elements trained in government-run schools and practical elements which are trained on the job, in this case at SCA Packaging.
During three years the apprentice will be supported by a professional trainer (Ausbilder) an industry expert, who ensures company knowledge is being shared.
Especially in critical economical periods this system helps companies to pass on their expertise to the next generation which secures knowledge and market advantage in the future.
At SCA Packaging, we believe it is essential to invest in our apprentices. Today, in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, we offer more than 10 different apprenticeship programmes which can be mainly classified in paper technology, maintenance (electrics and mechanics), administration, printing (flexo and general) and product design. These programmes are examined by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and therefore officially recognised across the countries.
It is a fact that almost every apprentice that graduated from the programme this summer started in a permanent position within SCA Packaging. This shows that it is a solid and well-known programme leading to a professional career. It also gives SCA a good return on the people investments that were made.
Overall, 156 apprentices and students are currently being trained in 3 different years/levels in all plants across SCA Packaging.
Within the next weeks the apprentices and BA students will be introduced to SCA Packaging. Below you can find some impressions of their first professional days.
