Riceboro Paper Mill

Riceboro Paper Mill, in the Southeastern US, was founded in 1966. The mill specializes in producing Kraft linerboard, which contains 25%-30% recycled fiber depending on the grade.

Being one of the largest employers in Liberty Country, Georgia, Riceboro is especially proud of its environmental stewardship. It is one of the cleanest effluent paper mills in the United States.

We're committed to using only 100% recycled or chain of custody papers in our products and ensuring 100% of our sites hold chain of custody certificates.

Pulp and paper mill foundations laid.

1968

Start of paper production in Riceboro.

1982

The Frem Family purchased the mill.

1998-2008

New chip mill, stacker reclaimer installed, paper machine upgrades, shoe press install, pulp mill, and secondary fibre plant upgraded.

2010

Paper machine QCS upgrade, press section steam box install, and rebuild of the recovery boiler.

2014

Paper machine productivity upgraded, improving production and quality of secondary fibre.

2017

Acquired by DS Smith.
