DS Smith Recycling Germany celebrates 20 years in Raubling

DS Smith Recycling Germany is celebrating 20-years of contributing to the community and promoting sustainability from its headquarters in Raubling.

Located on Kufsteiner street, the headquarter moved to this location in 1999 with just seven employees. Today, there is a team with around 40 people. DS Smith Recycling Germany moves almost 400 truckloads of material daily and contributes to the company’s international activities by supplying Europe’s paper and packaging division.

As Europe’s largest recycler for paper and cardboard, DS Smith manages over 5.5 million tonnes of materials year – 1.7 million of which is processed in Germany alone.

Not just a recycling company, DS Smith puts a lot of value on social engagement. The team in Germany has recently demonstrated DS Smith’s values by participating in a local workshop for the disabled, producing 20 bird boxes for a conservation area. The Raubling headquarters also installed birdhouses and incubators for bats at its premises to promote a thriving habitat.

DS Smith Germany donates to social institutions every Christmas, and this year, will donate to local Kindergartens. Members of the team will also be giving an informative lecture to the children on the topic of waste separation and recycling.
