DS Smith toasts award win with Lyons TeaDS Smith has won a Flexotech print award for a Lyons Tea professional pack
DS Smith’s packaging division is celebrating a big win in the Flexotech international industry awards. The winning pack was designed for Unilever Food Solutions for Professionals, and each pack holds 600 Lyons one cup pyramid tea bags for the professional market.
The pack was given the award in the corrugated pre-print category at the Flexotech awards, which recognise excellence in the packaging industry worldwide. Judges praised the way the pack illustrated the advances made in flexographic printing with good clean illustrations, sharp text and tight register. They said the vignette effects were of the highest quality.
The winning pack was made on a recently installed Flexographic Pre-Printer, part of DS Smith’s £100m UK investment programme. It was produced on an uncoated substrate and the print incorporated several challenging vignette areas.
