100 million boxes in Zaandam
100 million boxes on December 24th, 2013! An all-time record number of boxes produced at the DS Smith factory, Zaandam.
Working together as a team made made it possible to exceed the target of 100 million boxes on the 24th of December. A great result, even more so compared to previous years when respectively 96 million boxes in 2012 and 90 million boxes in 2011 were produced at the same site.
This record is extra special because the 100 million boxes were produced with less machines, with better quality, more efficiently and at a higher level of service compared to 2012.
The record was celebrated together. The production line was turned off and while toasting with a glass of Champagne, pictures were taken of the whole team.
The site at Zaandam is part of DS Smith since July 2012 (previously SCA) and produces together with the site at Eerbeek packaging particularly for fish, flower and food markets in the Netherlands.
