Embarks on Institute of Customer Service Accreditation

DS Smith has become the first packaging firm in the UK to become a member of the Institute of Customer Services.

National Customer Standard Service

DS Smith has started the ServiceMark accreditation process which demonstrates its commitment to customer service. As UK’s leading supplier of corrugated packaging, DS Smith is one of a growing number of B2B business suppliers who are working towards achieving the ServiceMark standard.

ServiceMark is the National Customer Service Standard. It is an organisational accreditation scheme that is achieved through a combination of online diagnostics, analysis and actions followed by an independent assessment.

All of DS Smith’s sites in the UK are involved with the auditing and benchmarking customer service standards against best practice in the consumer sector.

Tony Foster, Sales and Marketing Director at DS Smith, said achieving the ServiceMark accreditation was an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s commitment to delighting customers and will provide DS Smith with a platform for continuous performance improvement.

He said: “We have great people in our customer service departments who maintain really good standards, however our objective is to go further and align ourselves with the best possible practices. The Institute is the ideal organisation to work with because it represents the highest level of endorsement.”

“As an industry, packaging has come a long way in recent years and as a market leader, we feel it is important to be spearheading this process to not only re-affirm our commitment to our customers, but to benefit the rest of the sector.”
