DS Smith receives 'Formes de Luxe' award at Luxe Pack 2011

For the fifth consecutive year, DS Smith received a ‘Formes de Luxe’ award in the folding box category. Previous wins were for Rémi Martin (2007), Perrier-Jouët (2008), Veuve Clicquot (2009) and for Moët & Chandon’s ‘Fresh Pack’ (2010)

This year, it was once again Moët & Chandon who received the folding box award, for its “End of Year” pack.

Taking its inspiration from a Methuselah covered in gold leaf, DS Smith dressed the End of the Year pack from Moët & Chandon in a thousand fires. The brilliance, subtlety and fragility of the ribbons of gold was achieved through a combination of exclusive lacquers and varnishes used in a selective and interwoven way. Moët’s trademark logo was highlighted by an embossed relief, while the effects of texture and transparency were enhanced by the use of a novel varnish, the ‘Dual Effect’. The result is a multi-sensory packaging that stirs our senses through the brilliance of gold and a surprising texture.Moet & Chandon luxury packagingDS Smith also leveraged its expertise by creating a gift pack that was given to the 400 guests who attended the awards ceremony.

A metallic-effect box with two butterfly covers opens up to reveal an insert that holds the products from the other sponsors of the Formes de Luxe awards. The printing is made with UV offset over metallic paper.
