DS Smith scoops gold at international POS awards

DS Smith has won gold at the annual international POPAI awards, for POP work carried out with Kraft Food.

The project beat 14 other entries to the top spot in the ‘confectionary and snack products - temporary display’ category, with judges praising the innovation and quality of the work, as well as return on investment.

Cadbury Cream Egg Interactive Theatre Display

The display was an interactive Crème Egg theatre display mainly used in department stores and high street stationers.  It allowed consumers to roll their Crème Egg through various levels in one side of the structure, which resembled a marble run, down to a serving hole at the bottom.

“We like to help our customers create a sense of theatre in store, using fun designs and innovative print techniques to help engagement with consumers and ultimately to increase sales. We’ve delivered some compelling results for clients, and to have this recognised by POPAI when we were up against some stiff competition is a great reward for the team’s hard work,” said Bob Pearson, Managing Director at DS Smith.

“We’ve really enjoyed working with the Kraft Foods team to find innovative ways to help them make the best use of POP displays, and sell more products during temporary promotions – in one of the most competitive areas of the retail industry.”

Trebor Car Pot Gravity Fed Parasite Display

Another DS Smith project carried out with Trebor, scooped a bronze POPAI award in the same category. The display was a ‘parasite’ unit for shelf edge and gondola ends, which displayed Trebor’s Car Pots product in grocery and non-grocery retail environments. It was designed to promote Trebor’s message, increase sales and reach new customers.
