DS Smith Torrelavit Box Plant installs a new high-quality digital printing system for recycled corrugated cardboard packaging

DS Smith has been granted the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) to install a new high-quality digital printing system (PREPAC) in Torrelavit, Spain.

Torrelavit box plant is in one of the two DS Smith’s box plants in Catalonia.

The main objective of the PREPAC project is the development and implementation of a new automated digital printing process which would enable our Torrelavit site to become more competitive.

To achieve the desired technological leap, we have installed a large-format digital printing machine as well as other transport elements (related to the printer itself and to the handling lines).

The financial contribution from CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology) has enabled innovation and technological development of our box plant in Torrelavit.
