Two Displays Nominated for the POPAI Awards

Eye-catching at the Point of Sale displays are nominated for the POPAI awards.

Two displays nominated

Two display developments by DS Smith Germany are nominated for the POPAI POS award. With the Point of Sale solutions for TOGU® health cushions and the square chocolate bars by Ritter Sport, the packaging and display manufacturer convinced the jury and was nominated twice. The winners will be announced at the POPAI POS awards gala at the end of May.

At two metres in height, the first candidate makes a clear brand name statement. For Alfred Ritter GmbH's 100th anniversary this year, SCA Packaging developed an oversize stack of Ritter Sport chocolate bars made from cardboard. The secret of the stability of the imposing tower, which shows off the versatility of Ritter Sport with bars stacked on top of one another, is its intelligent design.

Togu Display

Five rolled laminated tubes on a metal display provide the support for the pre-glued chocolate bar segments. These are assembled simply by pressing lightly on to their flaps and placing over the rolled laminated tube. For the retailer this means an easier construction and a small floor area needed, therefore making the display flexible to be used both in large and small shops and providing– in the truest sense – an outstanding effect from a distance.

The second nominated display brings the air-filled health cushion from manufacturer TOGU® from the medical supplies manufacturer to the Point of Sale in DIY stores, furniture stores and retail markets. The design of the half-europallet display by DS Smith sells from all sides. The Z-shaped central wall not only delivers solid stability, its two sides also offer a lot of space to communicate the advantages of the product.

The Display consists of a number of individual parts that are neither glued nor tacked together. This makes it easy for the retailer to assemble and equally easy to dispose. After the promotion, the display, with its Z-wall – exactly the same for the Ritter chocolate centre – is ready to go straight into paper recycling. Both nominated solutions from DS Smith packaging are made from recyclable corrugated board.
