MP visits DS Smith’s Hinckley site

Bosworth MP, David Tredinnick, recently visited DS Smith’s UK packaging site at Hinckley, twenty years after his first visit, to look at the company’s progression in terms of business growth and sustainability.

Mr Tredinnick saw first-hand how the site has adapted over the years and how DS Smith has developed the business through innovation, helping to tackle key issues like food waste and security.

Adam Anderson, Managing Director at DS Smith’s Hinckley site, said: “It was a pleasure to show Mr Tredinnick around the factory to introduce him to the people that ‘make it all happen’, from sales, design and production, to customer service and HR.

“We look forward to welcoming him again later in the year where we hope to share impressive results of our planned refurbishment at the site.”

With 28 manufacturing sites across the UK, DS Smith actively invites MP’s to visit their local sites to review the great work that goes on in the area.

Adam continued: “We are committed to running our business in the most sustainable way by positively addressing the impact on the environment, while supporting customer demand and enabling customer choice. These site visits highlight this work and the continued contribution packaging makes, not only to the industry, but to the UK economy.”
