Gareth Jenkins takes the helm at the UK Packaging Division of DS Smith

Gareth Jenkins has been promoted into the role of managing director at DS Smith’s UK packaging division.

Jenkins has worked for the company for 20 years. After joining the DS Smith graduate programme, he did over 10 different roles in DS Smith, the most recent of which was sector director for retail corrugated covering 8 operating units in the UK.

Jenkins commented, “I’m proud to work in the packaging industry. It is a major employer and a British manufacturing success story.  The industry employs 85,000 people in the UK and has sales in excess of £11 billion”. 

 “As the UK economy recovers, we have seen new confidence in corrugated as an effective, adaptable packaging material. Our customers need us to deliver not only competitive, innovative products but a really sustainable proposition that supports their valuable brands”
