LARAC Conference 2015

DS Smith’s General Manager of Business Development and External Affairs, Peter Clayson, will be speaking at the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC) Conference on 15th October, 2015.

The conference will offer practical advice from local authorities and the wider resource and waste industry and offers visitors to input into the debate and gain practical knowledge about the challenges the industry faces.

Peter will be speaking at a seminar titled ‘Commodity Market Analysis: Paper and Plastics’ which will look to inform visitors about the current state of the secondary market and the key factors that influence it.

Peter Clayson said: “I am looking forward to this event because the Local Authority sector is vital to delivering quality recycling, and the LARAC Conference is always a great forum for learning and debate. There are a huge number of influencing issues to discuss.”

More than 450 attendees are expected to attend the event to listen and interact with a variety of speakers on finance and funding for local authorities, interspersed with questions and discussion sessions as well as viewing the busy exhibition.

The agenda will include service structures, commodity prices and also look at how local authorities can meet the 2020 50% recycling target. Alongside these main conference events, there will be a selection of topical seminars focusing on health and safety, markets, biowaste, flats recycling and much more.
