Scaring up sales at the point of sale

The run-up to Halloween is one of the most periods of the year for confectioners like Storck and maximum impact at the P.O.S is vital. So they asked DS Smith to design a display to bring their product range together in one place, arouse emotions, be attractive, excite customers and drive sales.

With close collaboration between Storck and DS Smith, the display was also designed efficient production and smooth logistics. The result is a cheerful pumpkin house will stand guard over circular or pallet Storck displays from mid-September.  The focus is products that are ideal for passing out to little ghosts and witches, such as nimm2 Soft, Knoppers Minis, Mamba and nimm2 Lachgummi Minis.  Halloween is known for being spooky but it now also has a sweet side.

The display and packaging strategists at DS Smith put Mamba, Knoppers, and nimm2 sweets in the limelight using recognisable Halloween symbols like pumpkins, bats and broomsticks to guarantee an outstanding long-range effect with the highest recognition value at the P.O.S. The Halloween decor package is available as both a circular display with a diameter of 140 cm as well as a pallet display and is therefore suitable for all market sizes. The theme/central section of the circular display - with pumpkin and bat - can be adjusted in height to ensure the goods are always at the right height. With the circular display the goods are "tipped into" the carrier, with the pallet display on ¼ CHEP pallets the displays work seamlessly with the respective products. The open structure of the two Halloween displays guarantees the shopper a 360° view of the various products and, therefore, easy access to the confectionery classics. The design of the displays and the outstanding quality of the printed pictures - implemented in four-colour offset print – reinforce the brand values.

Installation couldn’t be easier thanks to a clever structure based on a pedestal to which the other elements, including the pumpkin house which really draws in the passing consumers and reinforces the 3D look, are fixed. Special details like the free-hanging bats that come along as warblers are additional effective eye-catchers. No wonder the pumpkin is smiling.
