DS Smith sponsors ECR live! Conference

It was with this motto that the ECR live! conference took place at the Congress-Centrum Nord in Cologne in November. DS Smith was on site as one of the sponsors.

Around 170 participants had accepted the invitation of GS1 Germany, REWE Richrath and Intersnack and were finding out all about current trends in the market. Thanks to a successful mixture of presentations as well as storechecks and workshops, the participants were given a comprehensive image.

In his "Cross-Channel-Commerce – Using all channels to reach the customer" presentation Jörg Pretzel, Managing Director of GS1 Germany, showed how smartphones and mobile internet are blurring the lines between stationary and online shops. This altered information and buying behaviour, if used properly, opens up additional sales potential.

"As a full-service-packaging-provider we create packaging and display concepts for our customers which have the entire supply cycle in mind," says Michael Lamprecht, Sales & Marketing Director DS Smith | Packaging Division D-A-CH. "It is our goal to reduce the complexity for our customers and to give them innovative ideas that work both online and offline. That's why we also use events such as ECR live! to inform ourselves and to embark on an intensive exchange of ideas with our customers."

The guests from the sectors of category management, shopper and trade marketing, sales and procurement from industry and stationary stores as well as from E- and cross-channel commerce were in agreement that participation in the ECR live! Conference was definitely worthwhile.
