DS Smith wins top prize at Mars Quality Awards for an incredible 7th year in a row

DS Smith received four awards at Mars Chocolate’s annual awards evening dedicated to rewarding the supply quality of their paper and flexible packaging suppliers.

The plant in Noerdlingen, Germany once again won the top award in the Corrugated category – Corrugated Site of Quality Excellence, and three Perfect Performance Awards were presented to Kutno, Poland, Toury, France and Lockerbie, UK.

It is the seventh consecutive year that a DS Smith facility has won the Corrugated Site of Quality Excellence award and the sixth time for the Noerdlingen site.The Corrugated Site of Quality Excellence award recognises overall quality excellence amongst high volume sites with complexity of supply.

The award was one of four prizes collected by DS Smith during the evening gala.No other Mars supplier managed more than a single win. Three Perfect Performance awards also recognised DS Smith sites in Kutno, Poland, Toury, France and Lockerbie, UK for achieving a faultless rate of 0% non-conformance."Quality and service are extremely important to DS Smith and our customers. For the sites in Kutno, Poland and Toury, France this is the fourth consecutive year achieving 0% non-conformance. The awards themselves are accompanied by a financial reward of several thousand euros to be spent for the benefit of employees at the winning locations. In previous years this has been used to build an outdoor recreational area where employees can take a break or for upgrades to canteen facilities.
