How to get savings in packaging and logistics

We propose seven ideas in packaging and logistics that will help you increase up to 200% transport volume and reduce costs

1.- Increase the number of pieces per container:

How many pieces of your product fit in a standard package? If you increase the number of pieces, reduce lumps, reduce fuel, number of trucks ... In Tecnicarton we have verified with developed projects for automotive. We have doubled, for example, the number of bumpers transported per container, so we have halved the number of containers sent.

2.- Choose lighter materials:

Cardboard or plastic are lighter materials that reduce the energy consumption of transport systems. And today corrugated cardboard can withstand loads higher than you think. In fact at Tecnicarton we have developed a corrugated carton packaging for an automobile engine that supports up to 14 tons of weight. The substitution of the wood for the carton has allowed the container itself to stop being one more element of weight and to reduce the load.

3.- Choose more friendly materials:

If we substitute the wood for cardboard we avoid accidents at work, possible cuts by splinters, blows with a more rigid material ... therefore we reduce the chances of casualties. It is not the same as falling a wooden container, rather than a carton.

4.- Stackable packaging:

If we get rigid packaging and support a load on itself, we can duplicate the space occupied in a container. If the chosen material is soft and does not allow to place another container on it, we can only transport half of the products. It is about offering robust and solid packaging, such as corrugated cardboard.

If we increase the number of pieces per container, and we double the stackability, we are managing to transport 200% more.

5.- The strength of corrugated cardboard:

Corrugated cardboard is tougher than it looks. So much so that in Tecnicarton we have designed a pallet that holds up to 3,000 kilos and a container for a motor of a vehicle that supports up to 14 tons.

6.- Innovate:

Packaging innovation has a direct impact on companies' bottom line so customers are sure to value ideas and new solutions, looking for new materials, shapes or the combination of everything. In Tecnicarton we have an innovation management system that allows us to detect the needs of our customers, but also allows the team to propose ideas that can be commercialized.

7.- Returnable but controlled packaging:
