Groundbreaking Ceremony for DS Smith Plastics, Worldwide Dispensers Hosted in Lester Prairie, MN
DS Smith Plastics, Worldwide Dispensers held a groundbreaking ceremony on August 8th, 2017 for the expansion of the current manufacturing operation located in Lester Prairie, MN.
This project represents the culmination of various years of planning to expand the current facility and add high precision injection molding and assembly assets. The new 37,000 sq. ft. expansion will house assembly operations and warehousing that are currently located in two other close-by facilities.
Representatives of the General Contractor(Vos Construction), the Engineering/Design firm(ISG), the Project Management firm(CBRE), the Excavation Company(Litzau Excavating), and Mayor Eric Angvall and Community Development Coordinator Adam Birkholz, representatives of Lester Prairie, were in attendance to celebrate this important event with the employees of DS Smith Plastics.
The expansion of the location is good for both our Winsted and Lester Prairie communities. It provides the opportunity to consolidate our manufacturing sites and expand our current capabilities in Lester Prairie; while offering Winsted the chance to attract new business and additional employment to the area. — Mark Kurtzweg, General Manager of Worldwide Dispensers, North America
The expansion project of the facility is scheduled to be completed in February of 2018; and in full operation by the end of March of 2018.
DS Smith Plastics, Worldwide Dispensers will be providing periodical updates on the project. A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony is planned once the expansion is completed.
