DS Smith Plastics’ Bulgaria Hosts Third International Children’s Day

DS Smith Plastics’ location in Shumen, Bulgaria celebrates International Children’s Day for the third time this year.

The event was a success for the parents, the children, and the company and provided an opportunity for the children to play and enjoy fun activities. The Shumen location started hosting this event in 2015. After receiving an enormous amount of positive feedback and the successful outcome, they have made it a tradition to show appreciation to our employees with an event like this.

The event was held at a cake shop where the employees and kids were invited to come and enjoy the half day event. Although there was some heavy rain, it did not deter all the families from participating!

Elina Petrova, organizer of this event, commented, “Marking a special day such as this one, and seeing the smiles on the most precious ones – our children, brings us closer as a team and proves we are stronger together. Celebrating the Children’s’ day now is a tradition in Rapak, Bulgaria, showing the care and appreciation towards the team.”

Company events like this can extend well beyond a day of fun and laughter—their benefits can help employees feel good about themselves, each other, and the work they do. This also confirms that Rapak is a caring employer and contributes to the engagement of the team.

International Children's Day is a day to draw attention to children's issues as well as to celebrate them. In 1925, the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed June 1 to be International Children's Day. After the conference, different governments around the world began to recognize the holiday.
