‘Wear It Pink’ Fundraising Event at DS Smith Plastics, Foam Products

DS Smith, Plastics Foam Products in Northampton UK organised a fundraising event on behalf of Breast Cancer Research ‘Wear It Pink’ on Friday 20th October. The event raised £134.24 through employee donations, encouraged by the offer of sweet treats and a sweepstake competition.

The event was organized by Foam Products’ Credit Controller, Gaynor Duffin. To show support, employees were asked to wear something pink and donations of any size were accepted via a collection box.

This cause is very close to my heart as I have lost a close family member to breast cancer and currently have two other family members undergoing chemotherapy treatment for the same thing. I am sure we all have grandmothers, aunts, sisters, nieces, wives and daughters and friends who, if not personally touched, know someone who has been. So any help, no matter how small, can save a life and change the lives of all those people around them. — Gaynor Duffin, Foam Products’ Credit Controller

Wear It Pink day is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events. Taking place in October during Breast Cancer Awareness month, thousands of amazing people wear pink in their communities to support the registered charity in the fight to beat cancer.

Gaynor’s words touched many hearts and she did a great job with fundraising for this very worthy cause.
