DS Smith Announces 2017 CDP Score

DS Smith is delighted to announce a strong set of results in this year’s CDP assessment, scoring “Management B” in each of the three assessments – climate change, forests, and water. This latest set of results reflects a commitment across the board to engage with and tackle the most material environmental issues to the business.

As ever, the latest annual CDP assessment raised the bar, making it more difficult to achieve the highest scores. DS Smith’s performance is reflective of continued commitment to operate responsibly and transparently, and to take a proactive approach towards environmental impact.

Tom Giddings, DS Smith’s Sustainability Reporting Manager said, “The CDP assessments become more rigorous and challenging each year, and we are pleased to retain our ‘Management B’ score in the climate change module. This recognises not only governance, policy, and procedure, but actual performance improvements too – and that’s what really counts! To that effect, we recently launched a new carbon reduction target of 30% by 2030, having achieved our previous target a number of years early.”
