DS Smith joins European leaders at European Business Summit

DS Smith is proud to announce its partnership with the European Business Summit (EBS) this year for the first time.

 Across the world there are a number of major events where the great and good of a particular of a particular sector (think Davos for finance, SXSW for technology) gather to discuss ideas, challenges and a vision for the future. In Europe, there isn’t a bigger stage for political and business leaders than the EBS to discuss the issues of the day and “Debating the Future of Europe.”

DS Smith Packaging CEO Stefano Rossi will be meeting and speaking with people such as EU Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella who will be hosting a panel to discuss “Natural capital and eco-friendly businesses”. Stefano Rossi will be sitting on Commissioner Vella’s panel with several notable fellow panellists including: Francesco Tramontin, Director Public Affairs, Mondelez; Geneviève Pons-Deladrière, Director WWF EU; Siv Ericsdotter, Director-General of Baltic Ster and Timothy Glaz, Head of Corporate Affairs, Werner&Mertz GmbH.

The two day event will play host to a number of panels and the speakers’ list is something to behold: European Commissioners, French Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron,  Suez CEO, the CCO of Heineken, Christina Figueres of the UN and many, many more.

This event will build DS Smith’s brand awareness amongst business leaders, policy makers, think tanks and NGOs. Thanks to the presence of 250 journalists from outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, BBC, Financial Times, and Bloomberg we can also expect to increase our brand awareness across Europe.

The EBS, where we will be the only packaging company present, is also an opportunity to continue positioning DS Smith as the leading packaging company in Europe. The panel discussion, “Natural capital and eco-friendly businesses” is a vital question as Europe struggles with how to combat climate change while offering a bright economic future for the next generation.
