DS Smith insights at Børsen Food Conference 2015

Astonishingly, more than 75% of newly launched FMCG products do not survive their first year on the shelves! In order to give any new product the best possible opportunity to survive the packaging must be fully optimised to deliver low cost, higher sales and managed risk.

That was the message DS Smith delivered at the Børsen Food Conference 2015 on September 1st. The conference attracts a large part of the Danish food industry including Eva Kjer Hansen, Danish Minister for Environment and Food. The theme of this year’s conference was “The future food creates growth”.

As part of our “Don’t rely on luck” campaign DS Smith shared numerous insights on the crucial importance of optimal packaging performance in store, including the fact that 30% of buying decisions are taken based on the products’ packaging.

Many of these insights are based on our experience with customers at the DS Smith Impact Centre. We combine our packaging expertise with a focus on our customers’ Supply Cycle to guide brand owners on how to position themselves in the retail battle of the future.
