DS Smith announces partnership with Resource 2015

DS Smith is delighted to announce it is Resource’s Lead Partner for the second year in a row at the 2015 conference and exhibition taking place from the 3 – 5 March at London ExCeL.

Last year DS Smith shared its innovative Supply Cycle Thinking with visitors across the conference programme. We demonstrated and encouraged practical ways for businesses to interact with all parts of the supply cycle from designers, recovery and recycling facility managers, to logistics, retail and environmental managers. The introduction of these more circular business models, are already helping our customers reduce costs and realise significant environmental improvements.

Packaging plays a pivotal role in enabling the circular economy. For DS Smith this means offering practical support to businesses and organisations, helping them to shed the linear supply chain. This year we will demonstrate the simplicity, practicality and benefit of the supply cycle model and the Power of Less.

Commenting on our continued Lead Partnership, Mark Greenwood, Group Sustainability Director, DS Smith, said:

“Across the DS Smith group we are committed to bringing 100% of our customers’ resources back as something useful once more. We believe packaging can not only contribute to supply chain efficiencies but also be wholly compatible with the circular economy and supply cycle thinking.

“We found exhibiting at last year’s Resource an ideal platform to interact with a cross section of organisations and discuss how the development of the circular economy can help with their business needs. We are looking forward to exhibiting again in 2015 as it provides a productive environment to share our supply cycle thinking amongst companies from a variety of sectors.”

Resource Event Director, Stephen Gee, said:

“We are delighted to welcome back DS Smith as Lead Partner for 2015.  The 2014 show exceeded all expectations with close to 11,500 fully audited visitors at the event in its first year.  As more and more businesses recognise the commercial and environmental need for more circular business models we are seeing a tremendous appetite for involvement in next year’s show, which we are confident will see significant growth from 2014.

“DS Smith’s sustainable supply cycle thinking is a message which chimes well with the leading brands from the retail, manufacture, design and resource management sectors who will be participating in Resource 2015.  We look forward to announcing further details of their participation, across the programme, in the coming weeks.”
