DS Smith Constructs Corrugated Cardboard Stool for Globus Event
DS Smith built 10,000 stools for the Globus Group's anniversary celebration. What was special: all of the stools were printed with the logos of Globus's different partners and suppliers. For the participants, this turned them into a popular souvenir of the all around successful event. At the same time, the stools fulfilled high standards of safety and easy handling with a seat load of 120 kilograms (265 lbs) and simple set-up.
The Globus SB warehouses approached DS Smith through their Arthen Kommunikation agency with an unusual idea for their anniversary celebration. Instead of sitting on chairs, the guests would be seated on corrugated cardboard stools, which would be convincing with their great stability, easy handling and high quality printing with the different logos of the participating suppliers.
The developers from DS Smith presented as a solution a concept that was able to withstand a seat load of 120 kilograms and could be put together with little effort. The stools could consequently be delivered flat before they were assembled and set up on site. So that the stools could be allowed to be used at the major event in the Stuttgart exhibition centre, the Arthen Kommunikation agency developed in addition a comprehensive safety concept with safety experts.
A real eye-catcher when viewed through the rows of seats were the different supplier logos, which were each applied laterally in a large format using the flexo printing process. On the one hand, this expressed Globus' high regard for their invited partners and on the other hand made the stool a unique memento of a successful event. After the event, numerous participants expressed their enthusiasm to Globus about the corrugated cardboard stools.
